Class of 1949 Anthony P. Filowat, 90, of Floreffe, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Filowat, formerly of Ann Arbor, Mich., was born Dec. 3, 1915, in Elrama, a son of Michael and Mary (Podstowski) Filowiat. He was a 23-year employee of the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Mich., retiring in 1978; a member of the Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf; and a scenery and still life artist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Anna Daberko, Helen Filowiat, Mary Karacostas, Katherine Marshall, Julia Lis, John Filowiat and Metro Paul Filowiat. Anthony is survived by sisters, Jean Glass, of Texas, Elizabeth Bendel, of Floreffe, and Rose Humphreys, of Latrobe; brothers, Mike and George Filowiat, of Michigan, Ed Filowiat, of Alabama, and Andrew Filowiat, of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
