Evelyn C. Sackett Russ, 83 of Fairview Manor, formerly of 1206 West 30th St.
and the Saegertown area passed away Friday June 20, 2008. She was born in
Meadville March 19, 1925 the daughter of the late Charles and Alberta Watson
Sackett, Sr. She had been an assembler at Erie Resistor and later was
employed at St. Vincent Hospital retiring in 1988. Evelyn enjoyed traveling,
crosswords, reading, sewing and her grandchildren. She was a past president
of the Erie Silent Club, the Pa. Society For The Advancement Of The Deaf and
the Erie Co. Council For The Deaf And Hard Of Hearing. Evelyn attended Holy
Trinity Lutheran Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by
her husband Robert R. Russ, Sr in 1991 and her sister Charlotte Koeppen.
Survivors include her son Robert Russ, Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Guys Mills,
two daughters Sandy Russ of Lake City and Kathleen Swain and her husband
Mark of Jessup, Ga. Three grandchildren William J. ” B.J.” Russ of Edinboro
and Andrew and Garrett Swain of Jessup, Ga. One brother Charles ” Sonney ”
Sackett and his wife Margaret of Meadville. Also survived by several nieces
and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Home For Funerals
West 38th at Greengarden Blvd. Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Services there
Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. David Laakso officiating. Interment in Erie
