Don passed away peacefully on March 1, 2013 at Kimball Medical Center ICU, Lakewood, NJ. He was diagnosed with Pick’s Disease since 2008.
Don was born on February 13, 1952 in New Castle, PA. He was the son of Donald H. Rand, Sr. and Anna Mae Rand of Florida and one brother, Terry Rand of Florida, all surviving. Don graduated from West Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1972 and Gaulladet-University in 1979 with BA degree. He retired at Drug Enforcement Admission as a computing accountant in 2010 for 30 years.
Don is survived by his wife, Valerie Peltier-Rand of New Jersey and one son, Christopher Rand of Virginia. They were married for 20 years after falling in love in San Francisco. Don loved watching Pittsburgh Steelers and Dukes, doing outdoor excursions, being with his family, and having fun with friends.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26 from 5pm to 9pm at Gaulladet Ole Jim, following light refreshment will be served.
Don, we all miss you so very much. You were the greatest man we’ve ever known.
