The Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is gearing up for a $9 million project to help the 144-year-old institution better use its space and give students a modern dorm to call home while on campus.
The school is readying its 1960s vintage Boys Dorm for demolition in June, when the school will begin construction on a coed dorm to be built in its place.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2014 school year, school CEO Don Rhoten said.
