William Franklin Sutton, 72, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 11, 2017 at his residence.
He was born November 23, 1944 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Mary Ella Claypool Sutton and the late Alfred William Sutton.
Mr. Sutton attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. William worked as a laborer for Goodyear Tire for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler and was very involved with the Special Olympics. He enjoyed bowling, MOPARs, hunting, and fishing .
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ella Claypool Sutton; Jessie Marie Sutton of Slippery Rock, PA; one son, Todd Joseph Gray and his fiance Nicole Adams of Butler, PA; two daughters, Mary Jo Sutton Neal and her husband John of Harrisville, PA, and Bonnie Jo Sutton Plyler of Butler, PA; eleven grandchildren, Sarahlea A. Humes, William T. Scott, Colten W. Plyler, Dylan W. Neal, Talon J. Plyler, Cannon R. Plyler, Camren B. Neal, Alyssa H. Plyler, JoElla M. Neal, Sophia Gray, and Ashton Gray; six great-grandchildren, Devon Humes, Blaze Humes, Elijah Scott, Ava Humes, Zoey Scott, and Mason Plyler; two brothers, Harry E. Sutton and his wife Kathy of Clintonville, PA, and Norman C. Sutton Sr. and his wife Shelia of Eau Claire, PA; two sisters, Brenda Sutton of TX, and Sandra G. Broad and her husband Paul of Slippery Rock, PA; five nieces; and three nephews.
In addition to his father, Alfred William Sutton, he was preceded in death by his three nephews, Alfred William Sutton, Heath Eric Sutton, and Clinton E. Broad.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 15, 2017, 5 – 7 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA .
A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 7 pm with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Private Burial will take place in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
