Phillip Myrle Hewitt Sr., 86, of Beaver Falls, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in Providence Health Care.
Born November 10, 1930, in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late William O. and Melvin Marie (Gallentin) Hewitt. Phillip graduated from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1950. He worked at Phoenix Glass for 21 years and was a member of the Patterson Twp. Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Martha (Overly) Hewitt; his sons, Phillip (Beth) Hewitt Jr. and Jack (Jennifer) Hewitt; stepdaughters, Deborah Paschke and Lisa Paschke-McGarrity; grandchildren, Chad, Mark, Alexis and Ryan Hewitt; step-grandchildren, April Paschke, Nicholas Panos, Danielle Miller and Shaun McGarrity; brothers, Gary (Donna) and Richard (Josephine) Hewitt; sisters, Connie (Theodore) Brickner and Lorraine Day, and sisters-in-law, Lois and Betty Hewitt.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his previous wife of 21 years, Margaret (Laboud) Hewitt; brothers, William, Sterling, Kenneth (Marjorie) and Dwayne (Barbara) Hewitt, and brother-in-law, Larry Day.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton, gabauerfamily funeralhomes.com, where a funeral service will be held Saturdayat 10 a.m. Rev. Donald Dotterer, of Riverview United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
