Donna was born on June 22, 1961 in Pittsburgh, where she spent her formative years on the North Side/Manchester and St. Clair Village areas. She went on to attend DePaul and Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf where she graduated in 1981. Throughout her life, she was known for her laughter, joyful personality, and passion for helping and serving others. She loved spending time in Bible Study and with her friends at First Trinity Lutheran Church (Shadyside); Milestones (Wilkinsburg), Mercy Group (South Side) and Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf; she also loved playing games and watching her favorite TV shows. She was a leader in the Pittsburgh Lutheran Deaf Ministry, bringing friends to church to be baptized and confirmed, and teaching American Sign Language to members of her church and students at Redeemer Lutheran High School (Penn Hills). She was always eager to share her knowledge of ASL and enthusiasm for life with others. Donna’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
