Obituary: Roderick Palmer (Enrolled)

Roderick D. Palmer, 77, of Cooperstown passed away the evening of Monday, March 3, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. 

Born in Coudersport, PA on October 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Richard and Irene Palmer. 

Roderick was the husband of the former Shirley Turner, who he married on April 22, 1995 in Franklin. 

He was a student of the Western PA School of the Deaf in Pittsburgh and later in life worked a number of years in the janitorial industry.

Roderick was a man who loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time camping and hunting. He also spent time as a member of the New Beginnings Church of God in Meadville.

Roderick is survived by his sister and 4 brothers. Also surviving are his children; Lola (Richard) Wright, Marla (Mike) Stearns, Peggi (Mark) Corbett, Monte (Jessica) Snyder, Sherri (Alfie) Lanchazo-Gonzalez, and Jackie (Jesse) Belovarac. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 

Roderick was preceded in death by 2 brothers, his parents, and his mother and father in-law.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff – Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin. There will be no services. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to AseraCare Hospice, as Roderick’s family would like to thank them for all of their support and care.
