Obituary: Harold ‘Walter’ Scritchfield ’58

Harold “Walter” Scritchfield, 67, of Claysburg and East Freedom, died unexpectedly at home Friday. He was born in Claysburg, the son of the late Herman and Ruth (Miller) Scritchfield.

Surviving are brothers and sisters: Blaine and Dick of Bedford, Carol in Ohio, Mae in Maryland and Joy in Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Scritchfield was a 1958 graduate of Western Pa. School for the Deaf. He was a member of the Pa. Society Advancement for the Deaf and a member of Round Knob Church of God.

He was employed at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital for 36 years. Mr. Scritchfield enjoyed spending time with his many hobbies. He will be sadly missed by his family and many great friends.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
