Who am I: Jeremy Wagoner

Occupation: 4th Year student at Gallaudet University- Washington D.C.

Major: Psychology

Top of my BUCKET LIST: To embark the Semester at Sea (SAS) Study Abroad Program, sponsored by the University of Virginia (UVA) and where I have been accepted to study.

Purpose of SAS:

· Increase Global Awareness among students

· Give students opportunities to explore 14 countries and 16 cities and expose them to world issues

· Guide the students to new knowledge with their excellent curriculum

Why did I apply?

· To discover my passions in life through absorbing different perspectives, education, and knowledge regarding diverse communities/cultures and their social changes.

· Explore the vibrant possibilities of how I can utilize my knowledge and skills to be given back to the deaf and other communities in the future.

Goals for this journey:

· Spread deaf awareness to all the members of SAS by providing regular after-hours workshops

· Visit deaf schools and be a role model to the youth.

· Meet diverse people and gain a better sense of cultural sensitivity through a variety of field program tours, which are guided by SAS experts.
