Edward Allan Heid, 73, of Chippewa Twp. and formerly of Center Twp. passed away Tuesday,January 28, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by family. Born July 30, 1940 in Midland, he was a son of the late E. Martin and Hazel I. (Porter)Heid. He was a 1960 graduate of Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, Edgewood, PA, where he met his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Kay (Schwartz), whom he married on November 8, 1962. He was a printer for the Washington Post and the Pittsburgh Post Gazette until retiringin 2000. Edward Allan Heid was a member of Pathway Church , Chippewa Twp., the Western PA Deaf Senior Citizens and the Beaver Valley Bowling Team. He was a 34 year member of Local 7 andpast member of Local 101, newspaper unions. In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Edith Ann andScott Allan Hoschar, Lexington Park, MD; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jennifer Heid, Center Twp.; six grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Bethany & Dylan Hoschar and Tyler & Kylie Heid and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Heid. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMANFUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
