Obituary: Jeannie M. Boak-Stockdill

jeannie-boakJeannie M. Stockdill, 43, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 4, 2014 at her residence. Born September 11, 1970, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Dean P. and Carol Ridgley Boak. Jeannie married William Stockdill May 13, 2000. A homemaker, she graduated from Western PA School for the Deaf and NTID, (National Technical Institute for the Deaf), where she studied photography. She played basketball and softball at Western PA School for the Deaf. Jeannie was a free spirited flower child who loved camping, painting and photography. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by three sons, Jesse Boak, Shawn Stockdill and Bradley Stockdill, all of New Castle; a brother, Jay Boak of Pulaski; two sisters, Jodi Boak and Jennifer and John Owens, both of New Castle; a niece, Carolyn Boak; and a nephew, Taylor Boak. Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Karen Heasley will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Western PA School for the Deaf, 300 East Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.
