Benjamin E. Black

Benjamin E. Black, 75, Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Imler, son of the late Leroy and Verneda (Eicher) Black. He was formerly married to Sandra K. Campbell.
Surviving are four children: Chris in Delaware, Lisa Fetterhoff (Tim) of Greencastle, Randy (Cindy) and Rusty (Lisa Williams), both of Hollidaysburg; nine grandchildren: Kathy, Kristal, Karen, Sara, Allysa, Aaron, Natalie, Whitney and Katie, nine great-grandchildren: Damien, Nathan, Owen, Noah, Nevaeh, Adalynn, Christian, Logan and Cadence; a sister, Bessie Dively of Claysburg; a brother, Tim Black of Duncansville; and special friend and deaf interpreter, Chris Leighty.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mindy Russell; and a brother, Robert Black.
He was a 1962 graduate of the Pittsburgh School of the Deaf and retired in 2005 from Veeder-Root Co. after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren.
Ben was a member of the Pennsylvania Deaf Club and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan. He also enjoyed cars.
Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Interment will be at Lower Claar Cemetery.
