Mary Suzanne “Sue” (Schrift) (Headrick) Lawton, 74, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital from complications of metastatic breast cancer. She was born in Johnstown on Dec. 31, 1943, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Louise (Tully) Schrift. Sue was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Pittsburgh and was retired from Westmoreland Manor. She was a loving wife, mother and sister and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She always had a smile and never said a mean word about anybody. She was a huge Steelers fan and enjoyed painting, watching birds at her feeder, spending time with her husband, and attending family parties and dancing. She loved her cat, Angel. Surviving are her loving husband of 28 years, Douglas Lawton; daughter, Beth Ann Headrick (Andria Smith); sister, Cynthia (Sean) Skiles; sister, Kathleen (Gary) Nastase; brother, Donald Schrift; brother-in-law, John Lawton; sister-in-law, Joni Lawton; sister-in-law, Pamela Lanoue; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Headrick; their sons, Curtis Headrick and Donald Headrick; and a brother, Martin Schrift.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, followed by interment at St. Clair Cemetery in Greensburg. Arrangements are being handled by McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry.
