Ruth G. Cox, 73, of New Kensington, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Delaware, to the late John and Ruth F. Hetrick Cox.
Ruth graduated from the Western PA School for the Deaf. She enjoyed art, decorating, and loved Christmas. She was a member of the Deaf Senior Citizens Club, Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Cox Tomas; and niece, Renee Tomas Horm. Ruth is survived by her life companion of 38 years, Nancy Unitis; sister, Sandra (Henry) Piotrowski; niece, Tanya (Wayne Drum) Tomas; nephews, Tom D’Angelo, Dale (Kimberly) D’Angelo and John (Brittany) Piotrowski; several great-nieces and -nephews; and one great-great-niece.
As per Ruth’s wishes, all visitation and services were private, as was the burial. Arrangements were entrusted to the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington, 724-337-3325.
