Betty Jane Keefer, 87, of Jeannette, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born Dec. 14, 1923. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Jeannette, Senior Citizens for the Deaf, Edgewood School for the Deaf and Westmoreland Deaf Services. Prior to retirement, she worked in housekeeping at Monsour Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother and sister. She is survived by dear friends, Sandy and Carl “Bud” Jones and family, of Hempfield, David and Sherry Serra and family, of Harrison City, Diane Herrold, of Jeannette, and Jeffrey Ballon, of Pittsburgh; and cousins, John and Carol Yocca, of Churchill. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Betty’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
