Alumni Spotlight: Maribeth Zeleski-Emmons

Meet Maribeth, a 2007 graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD). Now living in Aston, Pennsylvania, Maribeth works as a Deaf Interpreter, ASL Educator, and is a mother of three.

She remembers her dorm life at WPSD, where she joined in 9th grade and enjoyed socializing, playing sports, and working at the snackbar and cafeteria.

After graduation, Maribeth stayed committed to the Deaf community through volunteer work, supporting future generations and promoting Deaf culture. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and has taken on roles such as Deaf Interpreter, ASL professor, community teacher, mentor, and Board Member of two Deaf organizations. Maribeth’s dedication to her career and the Deaf community highlights the impact of her WPSD education.
