John C. VanCise, Jr., age 38, of Erie, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 following an accident. He has joined his grandmother, JoAnn VanCise in heaven. He was born in Erie on October 18, 1985, son of John VanCise Sr. and Tina VanCise.
John was a graduate of Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 2004. He loved listening to music, was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed watching the news. Over the years, he played hockey and soccer and his dream was always to be a truck driver. John especially treasured his children.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by three children, Emily, Aidan and Tyler VanCise; his significant other, Diana Schauble; two sisters, Nicole VanCise and Kayla Behrendt; grandparents, Judy and John Laboda and Kenneth VanCise; two nieces, Zariah and Jada; and two nephews, Chris and Brayden.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Monday, September 23rd, from 2 pm until the time of a closing prayer at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, any contributions received will be shared with John’s children.

Message from John’s father in GoFundMe page: A tragedy has struck and we are left to try and figure out how to have a funeral for my son I am the father of John ( JC ) I am trying to raise money to have a funeral for my son that was killed Saturday night on 12th and German. He was hit by a car. He did not have insurance, and unfortunately, funerals are very expensives. John was 38 years old, he was deaf, JC had 3 children. I am fighting terminal cancer and it’s hard for me to get out and make this happen JC was my only boy any donations any shares everything is truly appreciated
